We have a “Corporate Environmental Management Principles” that guides our actions to mitigate risks, reduce emissions, and strengthen resilience against the effects of climate change in our operations, supply chain, and markets.

Through the quantification of our carbon footprint (scopes 1, 2, and 3), we promote progressive decarbonization through energy efficiency, clean energy, and sustainable practices throughout our value chain.
Main lines of action:
Scope 1: transition to fuels with lower GHG emissions and continuous improvement in energy efficiency.
Scope 2: use of electricity from renewable sources, through self-generation or contracts with clean energy suppliers.
Scope 3: incorporation of decarbonization criteria in the supply chain, promoting sustainable practices among our suppliers.

We work not only to comply with current regulations, but also to voluntarily exceed them, achieving emission levels even lower than those required by the regulation.

We promote the efficient and responsible use of energy, driving the transition towards renewable sources and continuous improvement in energy efficiency as part of our commitment to mitigating climate change.
In some of our operations, we contribute to the transition to cleaner energy through the generation of solar and wind energy, in addition to purchasing energy from renewable sources through contracts with specialized suppliers.
Likewise, we have Energy Management Systems certified under the ISO 50001:2018 standard and participate in voluntary initiatives with energy efficiency goals, reaffirming our commitment to responsible resource use.

We are aware of the importance of responsible water management in our operations. Therefore, we implement water efficiency technologies, optimize processes to reduce consumption, and invest in infrastructures that promote the reuse and recycling of the resource.
All our subsidiaries develop water recirculation and reuse programs, which allows us to minimize the consumption of fresh water and promote a more efficient and sustainable use in our production processes.

We recognize the importance of responsible management of the waste generated in our operations.
We implement practices aimed at reduction, reuse, and recycling, promoting a management model aligned with UN SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production.
Our waste management and material recovery practices encourage circular and sustainable practices, supported by continuous monitoring of processes to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance with current environmental regulations.

We recognize the importance of protecting and conserving biodiversity in the environments where we operate, ensuring responsible interaction with flora, fauna, soil, and ecosystems.
Our commitment is reflected in concrete conservation actions, such as the preservation of centennial species, the protection of more than 120 hectares under a real right of environmental conservation, and collaboration with the Gaviotín Chico Foundation in Mejillones.
Additionally, we make investments in green areas and reforestation programs, actively contributing to the balance and care of the environment.
Molymet does not engage in extractive or mining activities, and its industrial operations are carried out under strict criteria of control, prevention, and environmental compliance.
